dry mounting的用法详解

'

Dry mounting is an art mounting technique that involves using an adhesive to attach a photograph, poster, or piece of artwork to a rigid backing material. Traditionally, this adhesive is heat-activated, but other types of adhesives also exist.

The process begins by preparing the artwork or photograph. Any dust or dirt should be removed and the edges should be trimmed or sanded. The backing material is then selected. The backing material can be anything from foam board or cardstock, to a more rigid material like Masonite or Plexiglas.

Once the artwork and backing material are ready, the adhesive is applied in a thin, even layer. If a heat-activated adhesive is used, the adhesive and the artwork are then passed through a heated roller. This roller presses the adhesive onto the backing material and bonds the artwork to the surface. If a non-heat-activated adhesive is used, a cold roller may be used for the same effect.

The next step is to trim off any excess adhesive from the sides of the artwork. A utility knife is often used to trim away any excess that is remaining on the backing material. Finally, the artwork is placed in a framing or matting system and is ready to be hung on the wall or displayed.

Dry mounting is an effective and affordable way to mount photographs, posters, and artwork. With this technique, the artwork will remain securely attached to its backing board, while still allowing the artwork to be removed, if desired.
