Environmental warfare has been used for centuries as part of military operations, although modern military forces are more aware of the potential consequences and are more likely to employ other methods of warfare. For instance, modern military forces are more likely to blockade a port or area, rather than to use environmental warfare to try to force the adversary out. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, and environmental warfare is still used in some parts of the world today.
