pron. 每人,人们,所有人

everybody的用法详解

The word “everybody” is a pronoun in English. It means “all people” or “all people in a certain group”. It is usually used to refer to people in general or all of a group.

For example:

-Everybody knows that smoking is bad for your health.

-Everybody in our class is going on the field trip tomorrow.

Note that “everybody” can only be used to refer to people; it cannot be used for things, animals, or non-living things.

Sometimes the word “everyone” is used in place of “everybody”. However, there is an important difference between these two words. “Everyone” implies that every single person in a group is included, whereas “everybody” does not necessarily mean every single person.

For example:

-Everyone in the room was laughing.

-Everybody in the room was laughing.

In the first sentence, “everyone” implies that every single person in the room was laughing. In the second sentence, “everybody” implies that only some people in the room were laughing, but not necessarily everyone.

In conclusion, the word “everybody” is a pronoun used to refer to all people in general or all people in a group. It can also be used in place of “everyone”, although it does not necessarily mean every single person.
