genetic mother的用法详解
'
Genetic mother is the woman who provided the genetic material, either through egg or sperm donation. This term is used when the mother of the child is not the same as the mother who gave birth to the child.
The term “genetic mother” is sometimes used in situations when a surrogate mother is involved. For example, if a woman carries and delivers a child for another woman who is not able to do so, then the biological mother of the child is the genetic mother, while the woman who gave birth is the surrogate mother.
In recent years, the term “genetic mother” has become more frequently used in cases of assisted reproductive technology (ARTs). In ARTs, a woman’s egg is fertilized in a laboratory and then implanted into the uterus of the intended mother or a gestational carrier. In these cases, the genetic mother is the woman whose egg was used in the procedure, while the carrier or intended mother is the woman carrying the pregnancy.
The term “genetic mother” is most commonly used in situations where the mother of the child is not the same as the mother who gave birth to the child. In some cases, the mother who gave birth may also be the genetic mother, but this is often not the case.
